Held on February 24–26, 2025 in Washington DC, the 2025 Esri Federal User Conference (FedUC) once again brought together a mix of federal agencies, state and local governments, international organizations, academia, and industry leaders—all focused on harnessing the power of GIS to solve today’s most pressing challenges. As an exhibitor, New Light Technologies (NLT) was proud to engage with this incredible community, showcasing our latest geospatial solutions and deepening collaborations that drive mission success.
A Dynamic Gathering of GIS Leaders
While attendance from some federal agencies was more limited than in previous years, the professionals who did attend brought an impressive level of engagement. From decision-makers to technical specialists, our team had a unique opportunity to engage with industry leaders in meaningful conversations exploring cloud migration strategies, advanced data management, and the integration of demographics & economics, satellite remote sensing, and all-source GIS into mission-critical operations.
With team members traveling from the DC-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) region and across the country, NLT was well-represented on the Expo floor, meeting customers, partners, and industry peers. The chance to reconnect in person and discuss real-world applications of geospatial technology—whether in defense, disaster response, infrastructure planning, or environmental resilience—was invaluable.
Showcasing Innovation at the NLT Booth
At our booth, we highlighted NLT’s end-to-end geospatial solutions, tools and services, including:
- Accelerating Cloud Migrations: Helping agencies transition legacy GIS systems to secure, scalable cloud environments.
- Enhancing Data Management & Analytics: Delivering advanced analytics frameworks for real-time insights.
- Leveraging Satellite & Remote Sensing Technologies: Showcasing partnerships with satellite data providers like synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data, which provides rapid, actionable intelligence for emergency management, defense, and environmental monitoring.
Visitors also got hands-on experience with our latest geospatial decision-support tools like IMPACT, built to optimize incident and disaster management operations across multiple industries. These discussions reinforced NLT’s reputation as a trusted leader in bridging Esri’s ArcGIS ecosystem with emerging open-source and cloud-native technologies.
A Night to Remember: The NLT Annual Social
A highlight of the conference was the NLT Annual Social, which took place on the first evening. This year’s event was made even more special through our partnership with ICEYE, whose groundbreaking satellite solutions continue to reshape how organizations respond to disasters and global security challenges.
With a fantastic turnout of federal, state, and industry professionals, the evening provided the perfect setting for networking, knowledge sharing, and a bit of fun. The conversations flowed as new connections were made and ideas for future collaborations took shape. We’re incredibly grateful to ICEYE for their support in making this event such a success!
Looking Ahead
As the 2025 Esri Federal User Conference came to a close, it was clear that GIS remains at the forefront of solving the world’s most complex challenges. From emerging AI-driven geospatial applications to the growing integration of cloud-native GIS solutions, the opportunities for innovation are limitless.
For NLT, this conference reinforced our commitment to helping organizations leverage geospatial technology to drive real-world impact. Whether through cloud modernization, AI-driven analytics, or next-generation geospatial applications, we’re excited to continue working with our customers and partners to shape the future of GIS.
