The 2025 NLT Annual Conference was an incredible opportunity for our team to come together, collaborate, and strengthen the foundation that drives our success. Held alongside the Esri Federal User Conference, this event is an essential part of our company’s culture—bringing NLT team members together from the DC-Maryland-Virginia (DMV) region and across the country to align on our mission, share knowledge, and advance our work for customers.
With team members traveling in from Texas, Colorado, Washington, Alabama, Ohio, New Hampshire, Connecticut, North Carolina, Georgia, and beyond, this was a rare chance to meet in person, work side by side, and build upon the strong remote collaboration that defines NLT’s work culture.
This year’s theme focused on internal development, leveraging the depth of expertise within NLT to drive customer success through project huddles, technical panels, and strategic discussions. The energy, ideas, and problem-solving that came out of this event will fuel innovation across our projects in the months ahead.
Keynote from Jeff Baranyi: The Role of GIS in Disaster Management
A highlight of the conference was our keynote speaker, Jeff Baranyi, Esri Disaster Response Program Operations Manager, who spoke about the critical role of GIS in disaster management. Jeff highlighted NLT’s joint efforts with Esri to develop data and tools that help organizations respond to crises, protect communities, and make data-driven decisions when it matters most.
His talk was an inspiring reminder of how our work extends beyond technology—it drives real-world impact, helping agencies and organizations make informed decisions in critical situations.

As a remote-first company, NLT thrives on digital collaboration, but in-person gatherings like this one provide an invaluable chance to align, strategize, and innovate together. This year’s project huddles gave teams the opportunity to focus on key initiatives, problem-solve in real time, and explore new ideas that will enhance the services we provide to our customers.
