They have developed an incident management tool called IMPACT that assesses risks in real time and provides reliable exposure predictions using AI models and advanced risk scoring methodology. The tool ingests open data sources and disseminates information through alerting and reporting services, web platforms, and APIs.
This study links satellite-based environmental data with the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study—the largest long-term study of brain development in children in the U.S.—to better understand how urban surroundings influence mental health. By combining 11 satellite-derived indicators (such as land use, nighttime lights, and population density) with residential data from over 11,000 children ages 9–16, researchers are able to examine how complex urban factors relate to brain function and cognitive development. This groundbreaking dataset offers new insights into how growing up in different physical environments may shape mental health outcomes during adolescence.
