John Thomas is a Senior Linux Administrator & DevOps Engineer for NLT and is responsible for leading the firm’s implementation and management of systems integration and administration services for customers. John is a leading expert in Linux operating systems, Open Source Software, the development of secure high performance virtualized platforms, and automating deployments for Continuous Integration and Delivery (CD/CI). John’s full stack expertise covers the gamut from hardware to networking and communications to databases and web servers to geospatial and data visualization applications and beyond.
John has extensive experience building and managing a wide range of enterprise computing environments for large federal, commercial and research organizations including the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Commerce, George Washington University, Time Warner Cable, among others. Currently John supports the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) administering the FEMALab and Mapping & Analysis Center (MAC) which provide mission critical software platforms and data services for the nation’s disaster response and recovery operations. Always innovating, John is presently pioneering solutions for the future to securely integrate highly scalable microservices for data intensive geospatial, radio, and other field-ready applications.
