Eric’s work as an NLT Senior Solution Engineer has seen him innovating the ways the disaster response community responds to emergencies. When he developed the Hurricane Incident Journal, he streamlined FEMA leadership’s spatial decision-making process and gave the public a window into the federal government’s geodata. He would go on to help optimize the emergency management community’s analysis and coordination capacities by working on FEMA’s GeoPlatform and an open-source humanitarian disaster management platform called Project: Ptolemy.
His resume before NLT includes time working as a developer with San Diego Port Authority and before that a GIS Technical Lead with a defense contractor. He holds a B.S. in Geography with a minor in Film from Middle Tennessee State University.
The result of those two fields of study?
Several documentary films he made during his Geography senior seminars instead of traditional research papers.
