Utility Linear Infrastructure Networking Environment (Utility LINE®) is an easy-to-use, mobile, low-cost, open source utility asset management system designed to support telecommunication providers. Powered by NLT’s staff, partners, and guest contributors, Utility LINE allows its end users to map, track, analyze, report on, and manage their operational support systems.
Utility LINE automates work orders from concept to contract by utilizing existing asset data to generate accurate bills of materials, network diagrams, and route maps. It streamlines the provisioning process from contract to cut-over using work flows and notifications while reducing mean time to recovery (MTTR) through quality data and tools. From the perspective of NLT’s end-customers, Utility LINE helps community broadband providers secure customers, turn on those customers’ services, and maintain those services.
GIS and Mapping Tools
At the center of Utility LINE’s user interface is a dynamic interactive map. Visualization of
physical assets in the form of points, lines, and polygons are standard user-friendly icons. Utility LINE tracks assets and linear infrastructure: cable, poles, manholes, hand holes,
vaults, ducts, poles, buildings, cell towers, point-to-point wireless, omni-directional antennas, point-of-entries, telecom rooms, and splices, just to name a few. Whether you are searching for a manhole or facility, whether it is by ID or keyword, Utility LINE can navigate to the location of interest in just a few seconds.
Physical Network Planning & Work Order Support
Utility LINE includes an intuitive and easy to use interface for planning, designing, and pricing physical infrastructure. Users are able to create jobs, engineer work orders and projects to group assets created within Utility LINE. Grouping assets under a specific job allows for the creation of outside and inside plant plans to generate maps, diagrams, and reports associated for each project. Utility LINE is able to price and present work order labor and materials estimates. Description, quantity, order codes/part numbers, cost of materials, and other attributes will be all easily entered and displayed on Utility LINE.
Tracking fiber optic cables is a Utility LINE standard. Utility LINE accommodates the representation of both copper and fiber cable types. Tracking attributes such as sheath length, geographic length, slack, attenuation, resistance, and many other attributes also comes standard.
Import and export circuits, splices, billing data, OTDR test results, floor plans and other sets of tabular, spatial and binary files into your ULINE account. Ability to import and associate spatial or non-spatial data sets comes standard. Custom integrations to legacy or future customer systems will be assessed for relevance to the core application on a case-by-case basis.
Users and Roles
The ability to assign groups of users based on job duty to multiple roles comes standard in Utility LINE.
Utility LINE Subscription Edition – We created four subscription plans: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum designed to support startup telecoms, mature telecoms, Rural and Municipal Providers.
Utility LINE Enterprise Edition – The enterpise license is designed to support medium to large telecom providers that have their own IT infrastructure such as servers, IT staff and support contracts.
