With over 200 million rail and bus trips per year, WMATA manages the second-busiest rapid transit system in the U.S. The management of such a massive transit network and operation requires secure and rapid access to digital documents, plans, maps, images, records on stations, routes, properties, buildings, equipment, and so forth for daily operation. To do this effectively for such a large a complex enterprise, a sophisticated Electronic Document Management (EDMS) Solution is required.
NLT provided comprehensive IT professional services for the design of a new centralized enterprise class Document Management Architecture capable of consolidating multitudes of disparate records systems for improved indexing, searching, access, retrieval, display, and sharing of information. This work included assessment and alternatives analysis, planning and scoping, financial analysis, architectural and logistical design, system development and implementation, testing, and documentation with a team of specialists over an extended period on-site.
