NLT provides funding to local charities and organizations that have a direct and positive impact on the community. While there are many admirable organizations throughout the District of Colombia, NLT has focused its charitable efforts on a handful of worthwhile, local organizations.
So Others Might Eat (SOME) is an interfaith, community-based organization that exists to help the poor and homeless of our nation’s capital. Daily, it provides the needy people with food, clothing, and health care. It strives to break the cycle of homelessness by offering services, such as affordable housing, job training, addiction treatment, and counseling, to the poor, the elderly and mental ill. Each day, SOME restores hope and dignity one person at a time. NLT is a proud platinum sponsor of the SOME‘s annual Thanksgiving Turkey Trot.
DC Education Fund is an independent, nonprofit organization that supports a number of strategic initiatives in DC Public Schools (DCPS) through private funding and is the community voice that champions various successes in DCPS. NLT is a proud partner of The DC Public Education Fund.
The Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School’s mission is to provide education that prepares the diverse adult immigrant population of Washington, DC to become invested, productive citizens and members of American society who give back to family and community. The School accomplishes this through excellence in education in partnership with the community by fostering a safe and compassionate learning environment.
The NLT team supports national and global humanitarian efforts by providing pro bono GIS and IT expertise to relief organizations such as the American Red Cross and the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team [HOT], providing worldwide populations in need.
