Fire Station Location Study

As part of a fire station location study, NLT updated a previous analysis with new data. The response time of each fire station to every emergency incident for nearly three years was calculated using ArcView 9.2 and Network Analyst. NLT subsequently evaluated the impact of one or more two-person rescue units on emergency response times. Finally, NLT evaluated the fire department’s ability to meet National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1710 standards. Ultimately, the updated study allowed for informed recommendations on the best level and configuration of fire department resources in the city.
