The World Resources Institute, in conjunction with several corporate sponsors, has developed Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas, an very cool web-based dashboard style GIS tool for measuring and mapping global water-related risks.
To put this together, WRI formed a comprehensive set of physical and regulatory indicators to develop a Water Risk Framework for calculating and mapping water risk scores globally.
They have also adhered to what appears to be a sensible sustainable strategy for ensuring acceptable Granularity, Replicability, and Availability of data inputs...something to ponder for your own Geo projects!
